by March 4, 2022

On Monday, March 7, The University of the West Indies (The UWI) begins the reporting on its 2020/2021 academic year. Having operated largely remotely for another two semesters into the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has demonstrated its resilience in serving its stakeholders. Campus Principals and The UWI Vice-Chancellor will present the year’s highlights and challenges during the upcoming 2022 series of Council Meetings.

The UWI Council Meetings are considered the regional, public University’s annual business meetings, during which accountability of operations, finances, and all activities undertaken during the academic year are presented to the Councils/Campus executive governing bodies.

As part of its continued commitment to transparency and engagement among its stakeholders, public sessions of the Council Meetings of all five UWI campuses and the Meeting of the University Council are carried live via UWItv. These public sessions include presentations on the Campus and University annual reports, which are followed by question and answer sessions for local and regional media.

The first of the 2022 Council Meetings will be hosted by The UWI Mona Campus on Monday, March 7. Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Dale Webber will lead the presentation of the annual report for the Campus for the academic year ending July 31, 2021, themed ‘Redefining Possibilities’, and then facilitate the media engagement.
