UWI 2025 Graduation Ceremonies Celebrate almost 9,000 Degrees Across Five Campuses
The University of the West Indies (The UWI) proudly announces the commencement of its 2025 graduation season, celebrating almost 9,000 degrees conferred across its five campuses in Mona in Jamaica, St. Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago, Cave Hill in Barbados, Five Islands in Antigua and Barbuda, and its Global Campus. The first of 15 ceremonies begins this weekend at Five Islands.
This year’s graduation theme, “Pelicans in an AI-Driven Future – Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow,” reflects the transformative journey of the Class of 2025. These graduates began their studies during the rise of remote learning and artificial intelligence technologies. They now emerge as digitally fluent, resilient leaders ready to shape the Caribbean’s future in a global, tech-enabled world.
At the Five Islands Campus, the youngest in the regional UWI system, the ceremony will highlight several significant milestones. Among the graduating class are the inaugural cohorts of the Master of Arts in Teaching Exceptional Children and the Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Innovation Management, and Computer Science.
In keeping with its graduation ceremonies tradition, The UWI will also award honorary degrees to 11 distinguished individuals whose contributions span music, agriculture, religion, science, research, and aviation. These honourees exemplify the university’s commitment to celebrating Caribbean excellence and global impact.
Family, friends, and well-wishers around the world can watch live and on-demand. All graduation ceremonies will be broadcast live via: UWItv.global UWItv’s Facebook Live, Flow EVO channels, and Flow’s Bluu mobile app.
